Interest for Potential GB for F5X Preamp

As I recall, for the F5X the case was part of the design, the thermal performance of the parts was taken into account for the matching and specification and the case.

If you are going to build your own case, what not just take 2 standard F5 PCBs from the store and make your own F5X from the schematic?

All the information involving the amplfier circuit itself have been published years ago.
There are also numerous photos showing the design in detail.
So if anyone wish to reverse engineer, or attempt to DIY their own, they are welcome to do so.
No need to take this offer, which aims to provide the complete solution.

You can even buy a JC-80 PCB on ebay and adapt that to our published circuit.
Or just use the ebay schematics if you so wish.
Totally different layout of course, but will suit any budget builders when ours would not.
As already mentioned in post 1.

Thank you for your interest,
Patrick

Err, I have not seen the schematics, how powerful will the F5Xpreamp be? F5X does about 32W p/ch into an 8 ohm load? Or designed for about 26V Peak, But will operate at 34V Peak to peak? Thank you for that info.
Would like to use the F5x and Preamp for powering rebuilt Quad [2805s...]

An Update for Easter.

We have all the circuit functioning, and shall have fully functional examples some time in May.
The only thing that still requires attention are the display messages which needs a software update.
This is our bottle neck right now.
But day time work comes first. DIY is only hobby.
So I myself also need to wait.

The Beta testers will have their case done some time before end of June.
They will then be able to complete their (already started) build.
We shall not release the project to the GB subscribers until that is done.
i.e. until it is proven.

We have an agreement with CeeVee to supply you with the cases.
He is only doing this for love for DIY, as a service to you.
He has been busy till now with the DAO case, and the F5X Power Amp case is next on the list.
So the F5X Pre cases can only start end of November.
Delivery probably February 2020.

We have all FETs sorted and packed. PCB can be ready within a few weeks.
So those can be shipped any time.
But no point to ship them now without the case to fit.

We shall keep up updated later in the year.

Thank you for your patience with us,
Patrick
