Not wanting to bump this thread ,sorry.
As spaceistheplace mentioned in post 27 ,some great information he gave us .I quote him .

Similarly I intend to integrate filtering, surge protection and remote on/off or on/off triggering based on preamp signal.

The above link spaceistheplace gave us is now gone ,it was full of great solutions a guy had made and it would compliment the fo felix .
Has any one more information about that above
