Hello Prasi,

I am back from my holidays in USA :D

Could you add me for two boards please :)

As I have said already this PCB has not been tested in this version but it is exactly the same than the EL34 version except that the output tubes 8-pin octal socket has been replaced by a 9-pin noval socket !

I will make another visual check and if anyone find somethings strange on the schema or the PCB, please let me know ?

Cheers,
Marc

I have a request. Would you consider modifing the heater arrangement for the 12ax7 so that a Russian 6n2p could also be used? These tubes are very good and very inexpensive, compared to 12ax7, but they require 6.3 V between pin 4 and 5 and pin 9 is grounded. A couple of jumpers are probably required and pin 4 and 5 should not be connected in the PC trace.

You could put the burden on those who want to use the 6n2p to run one heater wire directly to either pin 4 or 5, depending on what you chose to disconnect from the supply.

Hi Francois,

Following your request I have modified the PCB of the EL84 Baby Huey to include a jumper to give you the choice of 12AX7 or 6N2P input tube :)

I know the 6N1P (ECC82) and the 6N2P (ECC83) and, depending of the supplier, I agree that there are very good ones, I have already used them with the jumper feature in my line preamplifier as you can see on the picture...

Best regards,
Marc

Hi Marc, wow that was fast! Thank you! I think it will openup experimentation also with other tubes to have this flexibility.

One question. In you pre-amp experience are there any issues with having Pin 9 (screen) of the 6n1p connected to the heater supply in stead of ground? I thought pin 9 was intended to be grounded in 6n1p. Likewise in the 6n2p.

Thanks again.
