So I was considering getting the FIFO II kit and the Dual XO, but it seems like the FifoPi does the same thing in a single board and is much cheaper.

Is there any advantage to getting the two boards over the FifoPi?

Well if you are not using a raspberry pi for your music streaming the Fifo II kit and the Dual XO would be more useful.

FifoPi also has an external I2S input from what I can see.

The only I2S inputs are on the J1 header which connects to the raspberry pi. I suppose you could adapt another device to use the header if you wanted.

You are right. I thought the J4 header was I2S for some reason.

@Morde

Good to know you received it that fast. Yes, it is. It's the boxing day .

In your package, it looks that the free I/V STD PCB was wrong to transformer I/V PCB. Now you have two them. Enjoy! .

Regards,
Ian

Packett at home as well. Thanks Iancanada. Indeed transformer i/v board instead std i/v.
Good news you putted an acrylic/pps decoupling cap at the bottom of the FifoPi board, far better than ceramic classI when it comes to listen to music... well done!
