GB Thread for Salas SSLV1.1 BiB shunt reg

Remote sensing is a good idea Salas, all well done :- )

Thanks

Positive and negative side to side in mirror can be a symmetric +/-V reg. Third board can be a spare positive reg, or each one on its own. Break with a simple move (V-Grooved), still strong when together. A typical need is +/-V for output analogue stage and +5V for digital stage in a DAC for instance. You can use the two +V sections from the triplet for double mono B1 is another possible use. Download and read the guide, says everything.

If it helps-I can order a good deal of the 2SK117 GR's. I should be able to sell them for .50-75 cents each. I am also considering getting some of the needed transistors, and 1/4 W 1R resistors on hand, as these seem to be PITA parts to locate for some. I would not mind a show of hands so to speak what and who would like this.

Per Rail 'Mini-Kit'

I have priced out (potentially) some mini kits that I think will ship fairly easily in my manila envelopes. The pricing is per rail. Let me know what you think. I think the shipping cost will go up a buck or two per rail as well - as most of you are international buyers.

The kit includes the below. It doesn't include-
No caps, connectors, pots or resistors for set adjustment. No R201 resistor (A Xicon 10R 3W MF or MOX could be added for .50)

Postive Rail -
2-1R resistors 1/4W MF KOA Speer
2-270R Xicon 50ppm 1/4W MF
1-47RXicon 50ppm 1/4W MF
1-IRF9610
1-IRF9530
1-BC550C
4-MUR260 (2A 600v) DO-41 Diodes
2-1.9v LED red 2mmX5mm (like what I use)
3-2.1v LED yel 2mmx5mm
3-2SK117GR
Estimated Price is $8.50

Negative Rail
4-MUR260 (2A 600v) DO-41 Diodes
2-1.9v LED red 2mmX5mm (like what I use)
3-2.1v LED yel 2mmx5mm
1-BC560c
1-IRF610
1-IRF530
3-2SK117GR
2-1R resistors 1/4W MF KOA Speer
2-270R Xicon 50ppm 1/4W MF
1-47R Xicon 50ppm 1/4W MF

This Rail is less expensive - N channel parts. 7.50

Positive LV
3-2SK117GR
2-1R resistors 1/4 MF KOA Speer
2-270R Xicon 50ppm 1/4W MF
1-47RXicon 50ppm 1/4W MF
4-MUR260 (2A 600v) DO-41 Diodes
2-1.9v LED red 2mmX5mm (like what I use)
3-2.1v LED yel 2mmx5mm
1-IRF9610
1-MJE15029

$7.50 per rail

Negative LV Rail.

3-2SK117GR
2-1R resistors 1/4 MF KOA Speer
2-270R Xicon 50ppm 1/4 MF
1-47RXicon 50ppm 1/4 MF
4-MUR260 (2A 600v) DO-41 Diodes
2-1.9v LED red 2mmX5mm (like what I use)
3-2.1v LED yel 2mmx5mm
1-IRF610
1-MJE15030

Est. Price is 7.50.
I could leave out MUR's (about a buck), LEDs, about a buck. But I would do that for everyone. It's not going to be ala carte.
Resistors are inexpensive part, so will leave those in. I could also use cheap-*** ebay LED's in mass, but I am uncertain of the quality.
Subbing MUR820's for everyone would be an extra $2.50.

Looking for some opinions.

The 10uF MMK KEMET (RIFA) are the most interesting to centrally source IMHO.

I might have to buy and ship them to you, mainly to see what the cost of it is. Also some recommended Wima's from Mouser.

I am trying to keep the kit light.
I could add some more stuff, but the shipping may climb to $15 if I use the small priority mail boxes (assuming the board will fit in it, I think it does.) Those can take 4lbs of product internationally. But the box IS small. If International buyers are cool with that, that can be an option as well, and stuff it with some caps. I would assume no more than 3 rails, enough for one board) could be stuffed into such a box.

I am keenly interested in the opinions of international customers, who may have more difficulty than the US peeps. What I have above is offered at a small premium (maybe for those wages, my son might take interest in packing some) to make an easy entry point for international buyers to get product at a reasonable costs.

I don't really know how difficult or less expensive it is overseas - but I get the impression that some countries have it tough, and it gets expensive to get stuff into the country with high shipping costs and taxes.

Anyways, I can make the kit what you guys want, you just have to pay for it. But it's got to be simple for me. I am prone to shipping errors as well all know - and this could make it really bad.:D
