The Metronome

Hi Friends , i like Metronome project. It's look like very eays for building and it's looking very nice. I have got a pair Fostex fe167e drivers on bass reflex cabinet. I want build a metronome and i read 30 page on this topic and i will continiue to read. I find metronome plan for FE167e on Dave web site. ( http://p10hifi.net/FH/download/metronomeFE167-1v0-map.pdf ). But i don'd find measures of the top section and port. My other question : Will i use any insulating material on the inner surface? Thanks to everyone and best regards.

yildray35,

Checking my notes from when I built an FE167e Met 8 or 9 years ago, I used:
port Dia = 3"
port L = 2"
cabinet dimensions:
internal height = 60"
Z(driver) = 30"
S(0) = 4" x 2.5"
S(L) = 10" x 7"

Cover ONLY the BACK interior surface with felt or acoustic foam; IIRC, I used foam; probably 1.5" egg-crate style foam, but I'm not sure.

I did use BSC; 0.7 mH and 1.5 R; but this will depend on your preferences and room conditions.

Cheers, Jim

Thanks my friend! Now I clarified in my head. :)
Cheers!

I hope nobody minds if I bump this up with a dumb question . I've read about 30 pages of this topic but far from all of it. :)

I'm building the FE127e Metronome, and the plan shows a 2" radius port (terminus). My question is, should I cut a 2" hole, in which case the tube's inner diameter will be 1.5 - 1.75"? Or is it the inner diameter of the tube that has to be 2"?

For folks in US, Canada and Mexico, I could have the Metronome panels CNC cut and powder coated in white or black (or uncoated if you wanted to veneer). Would probably need to run 100 sets to make it economic.

On a live recording from Las Vegas, Sinatra said that he pitied people who didn't drink, because the best they were gonna feel is when they woke up in the morning.
