So , Mr. Istvan Varga is shy guy ....... he's not shy to make bunch of good drivers , fluent enough in Hungarian ( of course  ) but also in Russian and English , but shy enough to not write here about his products......

Anyway - I know Sonido products probably more than 10 years , and I was/still am satisfied with them ; again - I'm not in any way commercially connected with Sonido or any other manufacturer ..... always being Solo Shooter , which gives me freedom to promote quality , and also declare BS when I see it.

So , Mr. Varga sent me an email the other day , with following info :

Question folks: Anyone know how to purchase the drivers from sonido.hu? I've sent a few emails asking for the purchase button to buy the drivers but haven't received a response.

FAST with Alpair 7 and Dayton UM8. Testing now and really enjoying them.

Took quite a while before I was happy with the paint.

Thanks. I've currently got them crossed over at 125 Hz, 2nd order on the A7 and fourth order on the UM8s. Haven't played with it much yet though.

My normal rig is Alpair 5s and a SDX10 subwoofer. I now remember how much I liked the A7. The A5 is lovely but the A7 has more texture and warmth in my opinion.

These make a lovely combo with the UMs providing a solid and fun bottom end that opens up the options for aggressive or synthetic music that the A7s can't touch on their own without losing composure at higher volumes.

But they are also appealing with more subtle music too when the woofer volume is well managed. A solid hybrid speaker.

I should be more clear about their intended application:

These are for my younger brother who wanted to start putting together a 5.1 rig for movies/gaming and music. The logic is that the 2 x UM8s effectively become the subwoofer and get used at higher crossover level of 125 or 150 Hz. This is higher than ideal for smooth integration of most subwoofers but considering that the woofers are physically mounted in the front towers I don't see subwoofer localization as a risk.

The main disadvantage is that stereo bass is lost in this configuration but this allows the UMs to share the bass workload evenly.

In the near future I will be building him a center channel and surrounds to supplement. They will all likely use single Alpair 7s in smaller enclosures.

Very nice finish Wiggle ! What are the dimensions of the boxes? Are there any partitioning inside? Did you get a chance to play them already? :)

Thank you :)

Yep they are separately partitioned. Alpair 7 is isolated from the rest of the box in a sealed compartment approximately 5 liters in volume and stuffed with polyfill.

Overall box dimensions are roughly 9.5" wide, 12.5" deep, 34" tall. They were sized to meet a specific location. If not for those considerations I'd be inclined to make them slightly taller but less deep.

I've been playing them and they sound very nice. They definitely extend quite deep and have good authority in the low end.

This is an old 3D Printed cabinet I made for the Dayton PS95

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

It is a 3.3L Vented cabinet where the port is part of the cabinet. The cabinet is 2 parts with the back being separate and glued on. Internally it also has a cross brace.

It is the cabinet that I am using as a reference against my 3D Printed speaker driver. This white 3D printed cabinet took 29 hours but my new cabinets with my improved printer design has got these cabinets down to 12 hours.

Finally finish Tabaq TL with Faital PRO 4FE32

After tested with all kind of music I realise once again how fantastic are this small driver, but the thing that really stand up is how they working at a very low volume, clear and incredible full body low freq. for a total warm music experience, the SPL of 91dB really make a difference especially with tube amp. also clarity of mid/high are outstanding....all the best

@kissabout2002
I'd love to replicate those. Do you have the plans available?

Hi TylerDurden, yes sure no problem, for this specific driver this is the plan in .pdf file, but if you want to use a different driver you can check https://www.diyaudio.com/forums/full-range/88787-tabaq-tl-tang-band-248.html#post5947390.
For this specific project I used 16mm plywood instead of 12mm mdf what is important is the inside size of the enclosure but doesn't matter the outside is up to you, also the suggested resistor and inductor are optional, in my case I did not used. Actually I got the drivers in your country Lean Business, Outstanding Audio - Specialist for audio products and authorised resellers for Celestion and Carlsbro. Based in UK, Delivers throughout Europe, also I got this ring 2 Pcs Universal 4 Inch Car Speaker Solid Washer Adapters Brackets Speaker Mounts Plates Speaker Gasket for Cars-in Speaker Mounts from Automobiles & Motorcycles on AliExpress - 11.11_Double 11_Singles' Day because I don't like the looks of the driver but still this is personal, the base plate also is optional and you can do whatever you like but is important for give stability to the enclosure, in my case I just use 24mm baltic plywood 45 degree cut, so that's all is a very simple build.....all the best..:)

In the plans they specify 3" drivers but you used 4" 4FE32 drivers. Did you have to change the internal dimensions at all?
