Here's 2.5 liter with a simple passive highpass with 100uF cap and 4mH inductor.


It would catch fire long before running out of excursion as 40 volts gives around 3.6mm peak

take it down to 1.5 liters - apply ~700 watts - note my typo

the inductor is now 3mH

- and keep on going down in size while up in frequency .

you can now plug it into US 120v AC mains or wideband for a peak of 3.5mm (that's a joke son...)

1 liter with 56uF/2.2mH highpass

and at 0.25 liter, the cone "would move" a bit over 2mm for 240V input

Here's a sim in 20 liters with 700uF series cap.

for fairly flat I'd go for 30 liters, some stuffing, and a ~1000µF cap. f3~45Hz

30 liter/1000uF sounds good. I wanted to look at the SEAS/Dynaco 2-chanber case using hornresp but can't apply the passive filter.


Here's how hornresp interprets 30 liter with 1000uF -ignore the 240v spl - the excursion is interesting
