Too bad they're not easily auditioned. I'd think you'd jump on 'em if you heard 'em. However, it's one of those goldielocks things; too hard, too soft, just right - that you'd have to experience yourself, so that said with some caveats; It's a big FR speaker, so it's going to "beam" or whatever, so that would put some people off regardless of how much of a joy it is to listen to - It's a FR speaker, so its frequency response isnt going to be nearly as flat as can be natively achieved using other designs, so that would put some people off regardless... It has some measured parameters that seem to be in an off-place, relative to more common values of such, so that would put some people off regardless... It's a FR speaker, so its going to IM distort the sound eventually at some sound pressure level, moreso than what can be natively achieved using other designs, so that would put some people off regardless... I chose my bed and am sleeping comfortably in it - so far! I'm 63 and cannot hear elements in recording I used to be able to. I can still hear instrument placement, depth and other attributes of phase correlated reproduction within the frequencies I can still hear. Depends so much on the recording; if "there" in the recording, my F15 speakers (with the 18" assists) will cast an acoustic bassist almost as if "there" in the room. Even when streaming audio from the Jazz Groove through an iPhone, BT connection to the amp; with no particular attention paid to the bit-depth or encoding of the stream. This, I like.

Wouldn't surprise me, but what are you basing it on?

Thank you for the detailed reply Joe . Everything you mention makes sense to me. You have confirmed that I do not have the space to play these in open baffle configuration. I bet your system sounds very nice. |

hitsware; If you look closely at my avatar, you can see I've done that with these F15s...at first.
ernie000; There's discussion elsewhere on smaller (8") FR drivers - retailing for a lot less. Maybe a better fit for your room size? I'm lucky to have the large room, be "allowed" to have these things; they look like two white elephants in it and dominate that end.

Joe ...
If you look at my " light weight cabinet design " you will see it is open air . The smaller the diameter the driver , the more I must EQ . That is what drew my attention to this thread . Even 12 inch is pushing things ..... <|:^)

hey Hits, speaking of parameters, I couldn't get WT3 to calibrate/work correctly with DATS software. Win10 on dual boot Mac. Any ideas on how to get it working? (gotta find the dongle !!)
