More than a decade ago, I built a BK-16 from Madisound with the Fostex FE166E. I did not opt for the T90A tweeter. I really love the speaker, although I do miss the highest octaves some times.
I've been looking recently and Madisound now sells the kit with the FE166En speakers, which seem to be reaching the 20kHz mark. They also suggest the more substantial and expensive FE168NS or FE168EΣ as an upgrade.
I trust their advice, but I'd like to hear if anyone else has had an experience with these combinations. I no longer have the space to build a cabin from scratch, so I am looking for a worthwhile upgrade to the existing horns, if possible. If you did the upgrade from FE166E and can relate the difference I might expect, even better for me!
