Hello to all,

I would like to know more full range drivers brands besides Fostex, is important that they fit on my budget, 1100 dollars total, with super tweeters included is a nice price range for me, I can stretch the budget a little more....

If it's a brand that also provides enclosures plans will be great, also to know more japanese brands will be nice.

Important: they must have be dealers in Japan, as I can get better deals ordering from there. (a friend can bring as gift, mail order is not possible for me, crazy tax issues and etc)

Many thanks to all, I'm learning a lot on the Forum with more experienced people :)

I suggest you make this the last new thread you start for a little while; it's getting a bit difficult to keep track with the battering of questions.

You are setting highly restrictive criteria. There are, in relative terms, not many specialist manufacturers of wideband drive units, and not all of those produce drive units in your price band. Even fewer provide enclosure designs.

As far as I am aware Fostex is the only Japanese company producing drive units in your price brand. Feastrex are far more expensive, and the other dedicated Japanese brands e.g. Diatone, Exact, Coral, are all defunct, while Pioneer, Sony etc. no longer produce drivers of this type.

Of other manufacturers, in no particular order there are (to name a few):

-Mark Audio
-Tang Band
-Supravox
-Cube Audio
-Lowther
-AER
-PHY
-Voxativ

Some of these are high end brands, but their cheapest models may scrape into your budget. Most do not produce supertweeters themselves (a handful do).

Other manufacturers who have wideband drivers amongst their main range:
-Vifa (only small, inexpensive ones)
-Scan Speak (only small)
-Seas
-Visaton

I know that Mark Audio and Tang Band have Japanese distributors. For the rest, I'm sure you can find out for yourself by running an internet search.

As we seemed to have slipped Scott's mind...

No mind-slipping involved, I simply didn't know you had distribution out that way (with the best will in the world, I can't keep track of the global distribution of every manufacturer), and the OP to date has been focussed on lower power valve amps which to my mind aren't the best match to the Eikona, excellent driver though it certainly is. Good to know it's available in the region. :)

Most of the speaker companies have mixed sales chains, if it is manufacturer->distributor->seller then speakers end up in the most unusual places. For example I live in the EU province, but one of the best prices I have got for Fountek was local brick & mortar store ~5km from me. No, Fountek does not have official seller in my country.

Some to the list of european brand names who produce fullrange:
Faitalpro, Sica, Lavoce, Beyma, Omnesaudio, Visaton, Monacor, Cubeaudio, Sonido, Scanspeak... and so on...

Freedom,

it would be nice to also include what you are looking for in a FR driver.

They go from 1" to 15".

Since you are looking at a budget around $1,100... I can only guess you are looking at bigger sizes, like 8" and up.

How and where will you be using them?

Otherwise, sure, we can all add to the list of companies that make FR drivers whether or not they are suited for what you want to do.

This kind of thread belongs to the ever expanding ones with lame titles such as "Best Full Range driver?"

For example, Magnepan LRS might not fit in carry-on luggage, but seem to fit your budget.

SBAcoustics is also coming up with some widerange driver and coax.

PS. I also learned of the Japan-Brazil connection some years ago... lots of Japanese people retiring in Brazil great deals for people not in a hurry to get to other places in the world... go figure why it is cheaper to fly Japan-Brazil-Canada, than straight Japan-Canada!
