I am going to make a portable boombox with two 3 inch full range drivers and i was wondering that what will be the ideal size for my PR 's. I know that for a sub woofer it has to be twice the cone area of the sub but for full range speaker shouldn't a smaller PR be more suitable?
In general, regardless of (active) driver size, the air volume displacement of the PR should be at least 2 times that of the (active) driver.
displacement volume = Sd * xmax
Recently, I tried a 5" PR with a 4" full range driver, and discovered it was too small. A 6.5" PR worked ideally with the 4" full range.
Hope this helps.

Also while using a pair of drivers for portable boombox is it better to share the airspace of enclosure or make seperate chambers for each along with 1 PR in each chamber?
Thank you.
separate.
