Very bad dampening

It's just to share a very awful dampening that I made years ago. It's for a BLH to the FE126en.

I was trying to bring a different finish to this boxes and I found this compression chamber totally filled with poliester.

Now, I'm more exciting to made this fix.

I’d use much smaller solid hook-up wire for that driver.

Could the cable affect negatively the sound quality or because it is a such a waste?

Yes, the speaker wire can make a difference in sound (althou you will get many arguing that it doesn’t).
