The newer 11ms. The ones with no spider sound very good almost
keep up with the bob brines TL’s. They sound best with good power. Sound better with 50 watt F5 than an eight watt SE

I've dug out a large ML Voigt (The Bennite Solution) I did for it that's buried in another thread too. I quite like this.

I've always appreciated Scotts naming conventions - but this one is really unusual! Why 'The Bennite Solution'?

Does anyone have measurements of completed Woden designs? I'm interested in building one but I am worried about the harshness in the vocal region of many full range speakers.

The design of the box mostly affects the LF. Harshness will follow the driver and be fairly independent of the box.

That's generally not where this issues lie with MA drivers. Do you have an example of a driver that is harsh on the vocal region?

I have the moth audio 8" driver and Lii Audio Fast 8". I've heard people complain about the same problems with Cube audio magus 8". Do MA driver's not suffer due to the lack of whizzer?

They gain from the lack of whizzer.

If you can get Alpair 10p it has a very controlled top end.

No. The whizzer isn't for the vocal region, it's for extending the treble region.

The 8" drivers you mentioned probably have a typical rising response, starting at 1-2 kHz, and peaking around 10k.

Should I be worried about beaming? Looks to me like a tweeter is going to be necessary to tame the top end. The woden design silbury looks cool, but a lot of work with little guarantee that it will sound better than a multi-way design.

I had Sonus Faber Signum on original wood/stone stands, great speakers to listen and look at. Than I made FHXL and sold Sonus...different for sure, better? For me yes
