Fostex Fe204 in Jordan VTL?

Hi!

Have anyone here seen this before, a Fostex FE204 in a Jordan VTL cabinett. Does that work or is it most likely to be a missfit?

I like the design of the Jordan VTL and it would be possible to use in my livingroom.

Any Ideas around this?

Total mismatch to my way of thinking, given that the 204 has about 1.5x the EM damping & around 4.6x higher Vas. But YMMV in terms of your expectations & what you like.

Assuming these specs are reasonably accurate, i.e. designed for horn loading and you're referring to the Eikona VTL, then to the first approximation the VTL is much too small.

What info I can get hold of, these are bigger then the original Jordans.
They are wider and taller.
Maybe that can make up for it?

The cabinett with fe204 has twice the volume.
Original has an outer volume of 28liters and fe one has 56liters outer volume.

I have calculated only on the total size of the cabinets.

206 is the replacing model for 204. Not identical bit should be kind of close.

3 notable modern horn cabinets for FE206 are Dallas II, Kirishima, and Vulcan. Scott might well be able to do a sim for you to predict behaviour, he has all 3 boxes in his sim set already.

At a glance, gross volume assuming the same 1.8 cm material thickness will need to be ~65.83 L. Assuming the Eikona VTL is tuned to ~Fs, then scaling width and/or depth is required to keep ~ the same TL path length, otherwise best to design from scratch using actual measured specs.
