Speaker A sides and manifolds complete. Working on binding posts and wire while gluing begins for speaker B.

Thanks! Iím actually a little surprised that Scott, as a lover of English geography and machinery, didnít comment on that.

Looks like Iím on track to have all of speaker B glued by Tuesday. Maybe the pair will be finished completely by Thursday but itís going to be tough with family coming to visit later in the week.

I missed it completely, it is in the dark in the background. When Kokanedd mentioned it my thots went to the Indian descendant, but when i looked at the pic, the drum brakes told the story.

Nice. Basically a non-biker at this end but I like some of the classics. So long as I don't have to start them.

The new one comes with electric starter & disk brakes. It would be my pick for a daily driver. I had 4 Yamaha SR500s (think Japanese Brit bike), one heavily tweaked, so i well know the genre.

But at the moment my left foot is still a basket case, so i couldnít shift if i got a bikeÖ i do hope it comes back. There are some nice 400cc singles available these days.

I think Yamaha had reproduced the SR500, or something like it, recently.

Mine is actually an Indian descendant. 2007 model year with the iron cylinder, points distributor, carburetor etc. It’s mechanically 1955, having been produced continuously in the same factory since that year, except for a left foot 5-speed gear box and turn signals.

Yamaha has re-realed the SR500 with a sleeved cyclider to make it an SR400. My last one was 585, hard to to give up the power with no weight loss. And the (somewhat) similar water cooled 400s available today make more power than even the bored out SR500 and weigh significantly less.

Life has slowed progress, but here is manifold 1 of speaker B under clamps. I used a piece of scrap to make a bridge that would allow a clamp to put pressure on the bottom of the manifold. Once this cures Iíll be able to route the wire and line the sides.
