Bought these pretty but not so hi-fi full rangers online, they came out of an almost unused stereo cabinet and are in good shape. Range is 75-18k hz., no T/S parameters given in the original literature.

Looking for fun builds/suggestions, so if you've build something with these fullrangers, please let me know! I'm not expecting these to offer earth-shattering performance over what I have now, so I might just go for something like an interesting omnidirectional concept.

I'm also mulling an "akoestische box A5" as it is called in the original Philips build plans. The 8080 is not mentioned as a recommended driver for this box (a tallish, square column, no ports), but the famous 9710 is; maybe I could just build the boxes and hope for a pair of 9710's to show up.

Hi,

I used them in tqwp about 1.1 high (folded ie the pipe was longer; probably 1.8). The mouth was about 9x22cm. I liked them very much with a decaware zen clone. Maybe not very hifi but very charming and envolving. They had lots of presence with not too demanding music.

That driver is best on an OB. Here are measures for the one set of AD8080/8 i have in my spreadsheet (measured with Fuzz Measure)

Boston Acoustics HQ48002

I am also looking to suggestion for Boston Acoustics HQ48002. Earlier they used to come as Philips Hi Q International speakers, now BA has acquired Philips speakers here, so the name changed. I have posted here because TS looks similar to OP's drivers.

Someone posted TS parameters of HQ48002 on another Hifi forum.

Fs = 83.86 Hz
Re = 7.10 ohms[dc]
Le = 787.75 uH
Qes = 1.46
Qms = 6.12
Qt = 1.18
Mms = 9.70 grams
Rms = 0.834214 kg/s
Cms = 0.000371 m/N
Vas = 26.88 liters
Sd= 226.98 cm^2
Bl = 4.980546 Tm
Sensitivity(2.83V/1m) = 92.80 dB

My friend has ried them in 40 Lt front ported bass reflex enclosure. I think similar like 7910 enclosure, but bass was not upto the mark.

Can you suggest me any good enclosure fr them.
PS: My drivers are 4 Ohms.

Yes, that's why I was wondering if a TABAQ (WiBAQ?) enclosure would be suitable, since that is also designed for a high Qts/100+ Hz driver. Bjohannesen mentioned a 2:1 ratio for the lowest reach vs the rating of the driver, so something like a 47/48 Hz low end should be possible in a TABAQ-style enclosure with the 8080, if I read the docs right. Probably not, since I'm a n00b of the worst kind...
