Default Alpair 12pw Fullrange?

Hi Guys
Just wondering if anyone has tried the Alpair 12pw on its own. I can see it is discribed as a Mid woofer but the treble seems to roll off fairly gently.
Also I have a pair of A6P which I found to be too lifted in the upper regions for my taste, can anyone compare these to the regular fullrange A12p in terms of smoothness and character.
Thanks Simon

Bernie is building a pair of big Mar-Kens for sngle A12pw. We intend to try it FR as well as see if we can meld a tweeter to it.

Great, looking forward to hearing the result.
I can only hear up to 15khz ish, so it might work for me.
The A12pw certainly looks like it can put out quite a lot of bass.

They can. We have had them in the MTM ML-TL with A7 and bass is certainly not lacking.

note, that's a pair of the 12PW per side, in a "not tiny" (i.e. just under 48" tall) wide baffle MLTL

yes, they produce a helluva lot more bass than a single A10P

Except for its efficiency, looks ideal for a SET or PP with variable DF tone controls if ~accurate, so could be quite entertaining spinning analog vinyl in a small room/near-field app or even a fairly large room with the latter.

Can high Vas even be built into MA's designs?

Woah.. just found the MTM you built. Looks a beast! But unfortunately I will have to go with something a bit more modest.
Bass reflex of 45 litres looks like it can reach near to 30hz more than enough for me and my neighbours

Simon,

There are A12PW designs also:

Alpair 7P & Alpair 12PW combination.

Maybe swap in a different driver for the Alpair 7P.

Dave might have other designs in the works (he usually has).

What amplifier are you using?
