thanks, understand, i need to cut it short then. The radius is 33mm, it should be roughtly 137mm long if i follow the metal cone specification or 114mm long for paper cone specification. Now my existing Port is 150mm. I probably need to cut it shorter to somewhere in between 137-114mm.

Now, the sound is ok but i am still waiting for burn in.

I have built mine finally. After run in for around 200hours. The bass is so solid and low. It's so good and 3D image. The soundstage is deep and wide.

here is the photo. I read some post saying it needs 500 hours run in time. Is it true? Anyway, it's great now.

Tthe metal A10.3 does take something like that to reach its best so i would guess MAOP is similar. But worst should be over in a 100 hrs or so.

I don't have a design for the Alpair 11ms so you should go with Scott's models if your project is needed now. His design should yield acceptable performance versus any design that I would create.

THANKS Dr. Griffin for your reply. At present I am using one of Scott's design. Pensil for Alpair 10p. So not really in a hurry.

Thanks Scott. Can you please tell us what will be the FB and F3 in case of Sea Stack ML-TL?

F3 is a useless number. F6 in the mid 30s, F10 high 20s, in room they will be lower. Almost as low as in FHXL.

I mentioned F3 because the other two designs shared by Scott had F3 mentioned. Only in case of Sea Stack ML-TL it was not mentioned.

I'll dig it out. But Dave is quite correct, F3 is borderline meaningless for acoustic purposes (it's basically a holdover from the electrical filter theory T/S values & Small's alignments were based on); it was included 'just because', not because it has any value, and I regretted doing so almost as soon as I put the drawings up.

Thanks Scott. With time it is inevitable to go through some changes in conventional concepts. I guess F3 is such a concept which is being replaced by more meaningful entities.

I always look at F3, F6 and F10 as numbers that tell something about the slope down at the bottom, but F6 and F10 tell way more how the bass is than the F3, the F3 only tells where the slope start.

Yes, you often see TLs and horns that support both A10.3 and A10p.
