That looks very nice, Gadut!
All those pro audio drivers must have some snappy slam to it.

PRV 5MR450-NDY for FAST/WAW applications
hopefully they will slam in my house

spare some time for my hobby, from my previous plan to make 3 way (nu3000dsp + minidsp 2x4hd) become 4 way and i need to get another minidsp. I'm using beston rt002-dipole with removed waveguide as super tweeter

back support template completed, will be followed by cutting 2 layers plywood of 18mm

Very impressive setup this will be, Gadut. Why don’t you get a 2x8 DSP? I have run two independent 2x4’s and that works too but have to program it twice.

Check out Analog Devices ADAU1452 eval board. $250 I know but very powerful SigmaDSP studio software and FIR capability. Plus you can add your own I2S input or output.

I had plan to use nanosharc and build my own multichannel dac but then it's too complicated for me. I decided to build 4 channel monoblock amplifier and put each 2x4HD on each amplifier box

i chose HD version due to standard 2V output, lower noise and better parts used compared non HD version. FIR is a nice feature but not my priority because i will start with Harch xo. i think duplicating config file 2x is simpler than playing with dsp encoding + i2s

i'm more to hardware man instead of software, i might still cut plywood in the next 2yrs building speaker set and room treatment

2nd set of minidsp 2x4hd arrived and 1 side baffle is completed. I'm ordering class d amplifier D4K5 with 90Vdc supply for subwoofer and apex B500tef for woofer.

since PRV has power rating, i might try b500tef just in case it matches with good class AB or A

I had the PRV drivers for about a year now and love what they do.
I recently blew a driver and ordering two replacement drivers to the UK was proving to be very expensive so Vic suggested I go for the Beyma Beyma 5G40Nd
I only had them playing for a day but I am pretty impressed. In my set up they extend better and the sound is a bit more natural. I am needing a bit more support from the bass more but this will probably improve as the system burns in
For those of us in the UK, it is a good alternative to the PRV for FAST applications

That Beyma looks very similar to the PRV, basket, magnet, cone, surround, terminals. Wonder if that is same OEM? Specs look very good - the 92dB is proabnoymmore conservative rating?

Beyma 5G40Nd/N - 5" 200W 8 Ohm PS82.76

They're are different beast for a lot of characteristics. Voicecoil length, gap height, voicecoil wire material, qts, number of magnet, flat impedance curve of the PR wich suggest big demodulation rig(s) around the gap..., floppy suspension of the PRV (qms=22 !!).

But still similar response curves.

I think in reality the Beyma is a bit more sensitive as I have to lower the volume control to reach the same levels
It certainly a cost effective solution that will work in a Fast based system

An update to my design.. I came across a cheap pair of Azurahorn 160, so i've made corner bass cabinets and a conical insert for the horn to accept the smaller 5MR450

Active XO for now, sounds amazing! Super dynamic
