The Envie is without question one of the finest wide band drivers.
I even think it is the best i heard so far. When correctly equalized it is neutral in tonal balance. It has tremendous dynamics and an additional tweeter is not necessary.

Dear Joachim,

how is the soundstage and liveliness with Enviee driver in OB,

I had heard a speaker with lowther driver, the soundstage was so holographic, that i could feel musician sitting right around me,though overall i could not bear the sound for more than few minutes.since then i have been searching net for a driver with holographic soundstage, but without harshness.

Thanks

mekr

The soundstage is amazing. That is one advantage of a wide band driver.
It is phase coherent and the sound comes virtually from one point in space.

with toeing of the dipole null towards the listener it can become a sort of a virtual 4 channel setup where the first lateral reflections (adjacent side wall and front wall) are work as the actual sound sources

I had that idea many years ago and i told it Rick Beveridge, son of Harold Beveridge and Allen Perkins so i have witnesses.
I even have a patent that mentions that " Gekreutzte Schallwand".

What do you think about the TDA2003 amp ?

I am planning to build a stereo amp for my TV set and would really apreciate your input ?

Are there any TDA type "hifi" chips ?
