I like the look of the BD-Pipes, here:
www.planet10-hifi.com/boxes-fostex.html#BD-Pipes
... but I really think I'd like something with a bit more Oomph.
The FR125S and WR125S combo, as in the dipole designs here:
www.planet10-hifi.com/boxes-CSS.html
... are quite appealing, but I don't really want speakers that have to sit significantly away from the wall. To my mind, a speaker which has the form of the BD pipes, but with the greater power-handling of the CSS drivers would be good. (The angled rear driver means it can sit closer to a wall.)
1. Is it possible to re-jig the BD-pipes design to utilise the FR & the WR drivers? ie same height, but broader and deeper box?
2. If no to Q1, it would presumably be possible to meld two sealed boxes into a tower to give the external appearance of the BD pipe. Or perhaps a sealed & an aperiodic?
What does everyone think?
(I did search, but was unable to find any pages or threads on this topic.)
Thanks,
Doug
