Line Array Impedance HELP

I have 12 drivers at 6 ohms a piece that I am trying to configure into a line array, but I am struggling with the series/parallel wiring. My goal is to create a single load between 4-8 ohms.

Help please! If I need to add a few speakers to make it work-I can!

Wire 4 speakers in series to get 24 ohms. Do 3 sets of these and then parallel the three sets. This will get 8 ohms total. Maybe someone can diagram it for you.

no problem, go to zalytron (http://www.zalytron.com/) and scroll down to line arrays, see all the wireing diagrams
do power tapering, that sounds better

happy, could you please explain step by step the math you used to get 8 ohms?

Because I am arriving at a figure much lower than that.

First wire 3 sets of 4 drivers in series.

Rseries = R1 + R2 + R3 + R4
or
Rseries = 6 + 6 + 6 + 6
or
Rseries = 24

Next wire the 3 sets of drivers in parallel.
(1/Rtotal) = (1/R1) + (1/R2) + (1/R3)
or
(1/Rtotal) = (1/24) + (1/24) + (1/24)
or
(1/Rtotal) = (0.0416667) + (0.0416667) + (0.0416667)
or
(1/Rtotal) = 0.125 (I removed the rounding error)
or
Rtotal = 1/0.125
or
Rtotal = 8

Thanks a ton--I have it working now-what I did wrong was place a single copper stand accross the terminals insteat of terminating them in between! What an amateur move.
