"Search thread", or "Search Forum"? Which widget are you using to do the search, and what is the search term?
I'm painfully aware search here sucks, which will soon be rectified when we upgrade the software, and in many cases the best answer is unfortunately "Use Google" with a search that starts with "site:diyaudio.com", eg:
site:diyaudio.com "mtm"
