New to the forum, having trouble using the search function. Not sure it I am doing it wrong. Trying to do some reasurch before I go start asking stupid questions. Anyway, I click the search button the search box comes up, if I try to click it to start typing everything disappears. Am I missing something?

Are you on a mobile device? I have that problem with chrome on my android phone. Works fine on browser from my pc.

There are two search options and only the upper one is functional. I just entered 'search' 'box' and 'typing' into the search and it instantly brought your thread to the top of the list.

Does the same thing happen when you click on Advanced Search?

The built in search engine on DiyA in its present state isn't very capable, a better alternative is to use one of the established search engines, for instance by using Google one type in the following...
site:diyaudio.com your-search-keyword

want to search thread titles only on DiyA then type in...
site:diyaudio.com intitle:your-search-keyword

or alternatively for words in the URL link...
site:diyaudio.com inurl:your-search-keyword

I have good results when I use the diyAudio Advanced Search.

Yes, I use only the advanced search and it works well for me.
