How to attach images to your posts.
One question seems to get repeatedly asked by both new and old members alike... how do I attach a picture to my thread ?
Well its actually pretty easy as this will hopefully show. The basic method is the same whether you want to add a picture or some other kind of file such as a spreadsheet or a unique simulation file.
To begin with, you need to be on the 'advanced' posting screen as shown below, and there are a couple of ways to arrive at that point depending on where you are now.
1/ If you are using the 'Quick Reply' option then you need to click the 'Advanced' button. It doesn't matter if you are part way through typing a reply, if you click 'advanced' your post will carry over to the new window.
If you have used the 'Post Reply' option then you should already be on this screen
2/ Now to attach your pictures. If you scroll down the page you will see 'Manage Attachments'. You can also click the 'paperclip' symbol. Both actions open the screen that allow you to select and attach your images
Or use the 'Paperclip' option
3/ This opens a sub window where you can browse your computer for the required image/s.
4/ Locate your files and be sure to click 'Upload' when you have finished.
5/ Your images will now show as being attached. At this point you can remove any or add more.
6/ When you are happy you have all your images attached then you close the window as shown.
And that's it Your images are attached and will show as thumbnails at the bottom of your post when it is submitted.
If you want to attach a non standard file i.e. one that has a file extension that is not recognised by the forum software then try putting the file into a zipped folder first and then attach the folder.
Files produced by the popular simulation program LTSpice are recognised and may be attached directly.
A note on file sizes.
If you scroll down the manage attachments sub window then you will find a list of file extensions that the forum recognises and also the maximum file size permissible.
Installing and using LTspice IV. From beginner to advanced.
