Pen to write on anodized aluminum / silkscreen

Is anyone aware of what kind of pen to use to write on anodized aluminum or silkscreening (such as on PCBs or panels). It needs to be a black pen with a fine tip. I've tried a standard Sharpie and it doesn't stick. Suggestions would be appreciated!

Try the Staedtler Mars Lumocolor Permanent 31 series. The ink was originally designed for plastics printed with the old flatbed blueprint plotters. This will stick to epoxy-based clear coats. It is as permanent as you can get without having it automatically ships with an MSDS.

What about using a standard laser or inkjet printer?

I'm looking for that old fashioned special paper with which one can make pictures to iron on t-shirts. Maybe you can Iron the same on anodized aluminium??

Bel Inc. sells "decal" paper for laser printers -- in 8.5x11 sheets -- you can make a very detailed panel using anything from your word-processing program to a CAD program -- and transfer to the anodized panel -- then apply a urethane finish to protect.
