Hi everyone. I am building a center speaker designed by Paul Carmody. I would like to know what the inductor in the picture affects (red arrow in pic below). Does it require the woofer on the right channel be positioned on the inside/outside? Thanks!

Here's a pic of the speaker.

The two woofers lacking the series inductor produce higher frequencies,
so they should be close to the tweeter, and symmetrical. That leaves the
two more filtered woofers to be on the ends. Ideally this would be a vertical
array rather than horizontal, but then it would block the TV screen.
