Post Zoom h2n for recording outdoor environment ambiance & talking

Hey guys so I'm looking for a budget friendly mic to use with video footage of my upcoming holiday, what I want from the mic is a quality stereo recording which picks up environmental sounds (birds, crickets, trees/grass swaying, etc..) as well as being able to record me talking toward's the mic outside.

I am thinking about the zoom h2n since it is a small budget stereo recorder with an XY configuration as well as side recording, I really like how it has such a wide pickup range. I will also be getting one of those fur wind shields designed for the h2n.

Thanks so much for taking the time to read my post, I would really appreciate some thoughts since I don't have too long to order it D: Have a good one!

Yes the Zoom works well. I've used the similar Tascam units more than the Zoom, but both are fine. If working outside you'll want a fuzzy "dead cat" style windscreen.
Take the Speaker Voltage Test!

Yeah, the H2n is a decent bit of kit.
Won't set the world on fire in any regard, but gets the job done. The choice between M/S and X-Y mics is a handy feature.

If mine broke or got lost, I'd probably just buy another.

I'm just worried that Zoom doesn't provide the routine audio performance specifications. Are they hiding something? Like analog inputs that pick up background noises from the digital circuits?
