I tried listening for differences sighted and per ABX (with Sennheiser HD700 driven by RME Adi-2 Pro FS) on two different days and the outcome is null, no stable difference I could reliably detect. Just guessing more or less so I didn't even bother to complete the ABX runs exect for one short try, with 3/8 result :-(
Need to test with speakers though I have little hope to fare much better...

My first attempt on headphones. I thought one file was brighter than the other, but Foobar says I can't tell.

Code:
foo_abx 2.0.5 report
foobar2000 v1.4
2018-11-24 10:18:39

File A: apricot.wav
SHA1: 366faaef08134ef83262c95ee8a5ccbdeedb7395
File B: avocado.wav
SHA1: b404fd5526030ace6f56bead6dd1f780cab0a533

Used DSPs:
Convert mono to stereo, Convert stereo to 4 channels

Output:
DS : RX-V2700 (Intel(R) Display Audio)
Crossfading: NO

I started another trial, intending to pay more attention and practice a little. But for the first time I used the crossfade. I certainly I do like the crossfade because it's seamless. The switch glitch always bothered me, making me hear a difference when there was none.
After listening to these two files with crossfade I concluded that there just ins't enough of a difference to bother about. ;)

Could not notice it in the bass, the drums, the guitar, the voice. So no worries.

What I find interesting is the lack of responses by the I can hear the difference between everything crowd. Seems they can't hear squat. And I don't need to hear the same excuses for the hundreth time. Thank you Pavel for the bit of sanity left in this forum.

Thank you, trying my best to keep a bit of sanity in this crazy audiophile environment :D
