Default louver doors for sound treatments?

I found some well made louvers that look very similar to this design. Louvered Wood Doors Design - Interior Home Decor

Originally I was going to use them as temporary partition walls in an open concept area. Then I thought they might make effective diffusing apparatuses. Silly idea? Go on I can take some hits, just nothing below the belt. Oh and not in the face definitely not in the face, better stay away from my torso come to think of it I bruise pretty easily there too

would work in the high kHz region, would mostly reflect >5khz sound up toward ceiling.

They actually work OK. Put some absorption behind them and they work even better.

Probably pretty transparent at LF. Probably useful >1kHz, where the wavelength starts to be comparable with the dimensions of the diffusers.

>1Khz is where a lot of the "ping!" sound in normal rooms is. Anything to kill the ping is good.

Thanks Pano. I'm making four from scratch that will be more effective. There going in a sparsely furnished a/v/g room. If its not related to bettering acoustics or cushioning a$$es its not going on the floor walls or ceiling.
