For an amp and a receiver that cost around the same, which would be a better buy? Assuming size of power supply (transformer and total capacitance etc) is the same in both cases - which suggests lower voltage for the receiver. The receiver at that price range would have room correction and mic and stuff.
I have never understood the point of bi-wiring, as it simply creates a small dip at the crossover frequency. This may sometimes be audible, and people will usually assume any change in sound is an improvement if one or both of the following is true:
1. it cost them some money
2. someone told them it would sound better
