Schumann Resonator Coil

Hi all, I've been looking at the various threads on here about building a Schumann Resonator http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/everything-else/162477-diy-schumann-resonator.html and http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/everything-else/216168-schumann-resonator.html I would like to build one of these and was just wondering if someone could advise me in regard to the PCB etched coil. On looking here and on the net there appear to be many different designs, all using a bifilar coil, some square and others angled eg. octagon shape. My question is basically, what is likely to be the best size and shape coil to be most effective, or is there really much difference between them ? Also how would one calculate the correct trace width, distance and turns to have an effective coil ? Finally, could someone advise as to the best method to create a bifilar coil in EagleCad. I'm familiar with the print-spiral ULP but perhaps there is a ULP that can handle a bifiliar coil ? Many thanks to any who can advise here.

Make one coil on the top layer and the electrostatic shield on the bottom.

Then make another one the same.

Insulate the coil area except for the connector pins.

Join at the 7 pin connector top face to top face.

Center tap is pin 1 and the two feeds are pins 2 and 3.

The shield is 6 and 7.

Works very well.

I could tell you where I've used this, but...

:)
