There's probably also a Lowe's or look in the yellow pages for lumber yards as well. They usually carry MDF and numerous other things.
I just did a look up using yp.yahoo.com and see there's a Menard's in the area, that's a good place to try. There's also a Woodcraft there as well, though I doubt they carry MDF, they can point the person to places that do.
There were nine other places listed when I searched for "lumber".
