Some go all the way with a good idea!

This guy build a record cutter with the cutting chisel driven by two speaker cones under +/-45 degrees.

And it even sounds reasonable!

You got to scroll through the uninteresting first part.

Would love to see some high speed microphotography of the cutting head in action! Normally there's a vaccum tube to suck the swarf strand away and prevent it fouling the cutter, which I couldn't see an equivalent of.
