They don't specify if the convection cooling was 'active' or 'passive' so could technically be either. What's the issue about having a fan? If the noise bothers you, then there is a mod to change the fan voltage regulator to 8 or 9 volts https://www.circuitsathome.com/meas...cope-modifications-part-2-reducing-fan-noise/ Obviously use at your own risk of electrocution, warranty, setting fire to your cat etc..
There is simple fan mod: Hantek DSO5000 series oscilloscope modifications. Part 2 – reducing fan noise.

Thank You !
Already posted you a link to that mod:
Thank You !
A fan can stall if the voltage is too low and/or it is gummed up with dust. If it stalls, the scope will overheat and fail. Be sure to keep the filter clean, especially if the voltage is lowered.
But beware that they implemented fan cooling for a reason. As Rayma says, the scope can overheat and fail.
Change that can to will.
Depends on ambient conditions. It would certainly fail when it is 40+ degrees here (celcius). OP could always try to squeeze in a fan speed controller to quieten things when 'recording', or a temperature controlled setup perhaps. Maybe not enough room or maybe wouldn't want to do that on a brand new unit, but there are always options.
