I checked the windows security section. The microphone is enabled. May I ask what application did you use for recording? By using standard audio interface,
Audacity, REW and Arta will not record.

Never thought about that. Isn't the RTX an UAC2 compliant device? I will try, thanks.

I'd be surprised if the native UAC2 driver in Windows doesn't record, but USB specs are always overcomplicated and so I am sure it could be incompatible with XMOS devices at the moment.

I have read elsewhere that the UAC 2 implementation by Microsoft doesn't support record. I had to reinstall the RTX driver after the 1803 upgrade for anything to work. All a PITA.

It seems like it should support it:

USB Audio 2.0 Drivers - Windows drivers | Microsoft Docs

I would not be shocked if it is broken or buggy though.

By taking Demian's suggestion, the latest driver is installed (so is the firmware). I can use my USB DAC as output device now! The frequency response measurement was done successfully. Thank you! However, here comes the new problem. The RTX's ouput won't work anymore, only the input. That means I won't be able to do loopback test with "Java" drivers. Very strange.

For reasons that do not make sense several restarts may be needed to get the driver to work right. I think its some "unhappy" cooperation between the native Windows driver and the RTX driver.

Yes, you're right. It somehow works again! Weird...
