Thumbs up TU8600, 120ohm series hp resistor removal?

Hi,
Iíve built up a nice running TU8600 with all the fixings. Does anyone know if itís okay to lower to less resistance the series resistor in the hp output section? Amp will only be used with high impedance planer hpís. 200 to 300 ohms planer so impedance damping 1/8 might not be much of a factor. It looks like from the circuit diagram it can directly drive down to 4 ohms. Thanks in advance for any input.
Nelson

TU8600, 120ohm series hp resistor removal?
Hi,
I do not have the schematics for the TU-8600 but most likely yes. The TU-8200xx require a similar change for low impedance phones. The Focal Clear sounds awful when driven from a 90+ Ohm output. It is fine for >250 Ohm Sennheisers though.

Thanks! I’ll give it a test. I figure I can put a jumper across the resistors and see how it improves. I found info indicating similar as you described relating to hd650s as well.
