I am looking at building a turntable and i am looking for any advice you might be able to give me on building the motor drive unit.
I have a small workshop with a CNC router, lathe etc and I am quite confident in building the platform, turnable, motor housing etc but I fall down on the electronics side of things. Where might I be able to source a reasonably priced motor preferably in Australia and is there a suitable speed controller kit that I could make for it? Thanks for any help |

Well here is as good as it gets. Look up in analogue section at DIY, the SG4 diy 4 phase sinewave generator for turntable motor drive. You will be at the top of the game.
One extra tip if you are going belt/tape/string drive make the platter heavy 30lbs and up should do the trick. Enjoy the ride Tom |

Hey Ben,
How did it go? You can try with this CNC machining service website. I already use them for my own project. They ship worldwide and source at a reasonably priced, they maybe have CNC suppliers or will have in the future them in Australia. Not sure I hope it helped Lixa |
