Default Clock problem - (external wallwart PSU)

Hi,

I decided to power my cd player's external clock by external DC wall wart.

Cdp span up, and sound was great but..

In the speakers I hear a whirr that go's to very high pitch starting from low pitch. It's like the sound in films when an electronic detonator is primed! :fire:

I think it's just a ground mistake (hopefully)

Any ideas ?

I soldered a DC socket on the clock power input. Do you think a battery supplied clock will still make this insane sound!
