I thought that maybe this would be of interest to some other diyers:

Audio Digital-to-Analog Converter (DAC): The DSD1608 is an 8-channel, enhanced
multi-format delta-sigma audio DAC that supports both PCM audio data format and DSD
(Direct Stream Digital) audio data formats. The device also supports the TDMCA
interface. The DSD1608 features excellent dynamic range (108 dB typ.), an 8x digital
interpolation filter and dedicated digital DSD filter optimized for SACD sampling rates of
192 kHz (PCM mode) and 64 x 44.1 kHz (DSD mode), THD+N of 0.0012%, full-scale output
of 4 Vp-p, dual power supply (5 V for analog, 3.3 V for digital), and power dissipation of
270 mW (typ). Applications include universal players (SACD and DVD), SACD players, and
car audio systems. Available in a 52-pin TQFP package.
