In addition to a complementary relatively high current output stage there is also an op-amp that serves as the input and error amplifier for the entire loop.

IMVLE many very inexpensive modern dacs will outperform this dinosaur.. (I had an ultralink II and its performance on everything but HDCD was sonically inferior to a very inexpensive Zhaolu 2.5A dac with an AD-1955 D/A in it.)

understood. i suppose it resamble the ps audio preamp in miniature!
is it also the I/V stage based on discrete element? ( it is foundamental for me I'm just purchasing one here in italy...)
