Is there any way to mod an old CD player to create an input to dac?

To connect a network player. The VD player I had in mind was an old pcm1795 based Luxman

This question crops up regularly and then dies out equally regularly. Different respondents will give different opinions on how difficult it is but the last time went it from question to actual input in CD player was 2006. That being said, more detail will be required for this to go anywhere.

If the cd player uses i2s then yeah you can tap into it on the circuit board.

You need an SPDIF-to-I2S converter board (check eBay or Banggood) and tap the I2S lines of the PCM1795 (pin4 = LRCK, pin5 = DATA, pin6 = BCK). But you'd verify if the Luxman uses I2S format indeed.
