I have never had any problems with the CD50/60.

I may be wrong but I think griplets were only used on the early models such as the CD104.

Griplets were certainly employed in the Philips CD104 and the Beogram CDX which was based upon it.

With the simplification of digital circuitry, stacked pc boards (and in consequence griplets) would not have been necessary in subsequent models.
