I am considering picking up one of the Nakamichi MB players from the 90's and wondered how easily the audio components (caps, OP amps and chips) can be upgraded.
My reasoning for this is that due to the age of the units I think I should be looking to buy the best condition unit I can find to use as a base then work upwards from that starting point.
As the MB-1 would be my preferred choice and not easy to find completeness or in the condition I would like condition could I fit the same chips that are found in the 1 or 1s into the entry level model 4s to attain the same SQ?
