Hi. Iz it possibls to somehow upgrade the arcam cd72 with a better dac?? Due to its age, the upgrade kit is no longer available. There is ring dac from the alpha 9 but the price is crazy.
I am thinking of buying 2md hand rDAC and solder it to existing board ot use the ribbon cables. Then place the dac board inside the player.
Do you think its possible?

This is basically the cd92, or one of the nicer arcam dac circuits from that era. There was a single wm8741 version with the same circuit called the dac 5, but they are all but extinct now.
