Hi I have a Linn Karik 3 and suspect the laser is faulty . It reads and plays only a quarter of the discs loaded . I have managed to buy a copy of the Hitach Hop M3 but now need advice setting up the eye pattern and the out out of the laser . Can any one help please ? Also does anyone have a copy of the service manual at all ? Thanks Darren
I'm not familiar with the player at all but would say as general advice:
1/ Do not alter any preset/s on the pickup.
2/ Check that there are no static shorting links to be removed.
AFAIK some of the HOP pickups are just plug and play.
If the player has adjustments for tracking/focus gains and offsets etc etc then these are all universally similar.
See this thread for adjusting a player:

I'm sure Mooly's right, just put it in and play some music.
