Default Marantz CD32 DAC upgrade.

Att: All Tech Gurus! This Marantz CD32 sounds great as it is really but it was built in about the 1980s or thereabouts and I want to know if I can upgrade the chips in it seeing as how the technology has advanced so much since then, this Marantz already has a beautifully smooth transport and any upgrades that could be done would only do it justice.

Have you searched around for schematics and any information from others who have tinkered with the 32/52 models?
Marantz has offered "upgraded models" that have better parts swapped in, not sure if they did that with these models or not, but that may be a source of info also.

I have the schematic. I've been looking around for info for a fair while now but I can't find anyone that has actually upgraded their 32/52 series? Maybe someone out there will see this!

Check this link to my blog.....
HiFiSounds.co.uk - CD52 MKII Modification

You will need a browser plugin to get round the photobucket issue and display the pictures.

Fairly sure I've posted most of the same info on a thread here a few years ago but couldnt find it now

This must be the info I was thinking about because I knew there was something out there that I had read a few years ago! Thanks for putting this up mate, a thousand thank yous, it's appreciated. It looks fairly straightforward to do and I'm eager to hear the results.

I can not find a plugin for my Firefox browser to check out Photobucket? Do I replace all 5 regulators with the Texas Instrument ones?

You can replace the NE5532 with bipolar input OP (dual package).
Not with FET input OPs.

Like OPA1602 (only av. in SMD package).

An SMD would be too much of a hassle to install. There must be a better Op Amp available nowadays that fits straight in? But which one?
