My guide to solving problems in the DENON DVD 2900

In this tutorial I will present problems I had over the years in the DENON 2900
And ways solved them.

Display problems

Typical display problems

1) Display Blinking
2) Display off
3) Display with strong spikes in light

Solutions

Check the connector CX061

pin 3 = 3.3v d3
pin 4 = F+
PIN 5 = F-
PIN 6 = 32V

GU3496-5 LED UNIT Board
check the transistor
TR 102
TR 103

A problem in one of these transistors can cause
Display to flicker.

check the 3 short jumper on GU3496-6
j101
j102
j103

if j103 is open the denon will go to standby

check the rotary 0389007
and clean the rotary switch

problems

oscillation
noise

When replacing Op Amps
Always make sure the right treatment with everything around

example

IC216
IC217

D3.JPG
on the buffer op amp Cf is 1800P
C341
C342

on op amp ad826
This can cause a problem of oscillation

chenge the caps to cog/npo 22pf

op amp adapter Can cause problems in that it adds capacitance
Solder the Op Amps
Directly to the board

Lowering the resistor values can reduce noise
In the IC 216 IC 216
Gain here 2
denon not use all the gain in the I/V and the comparator op amp

If you change the values of the resistor or cop in the I/V - COMPARTOR which have to calculate all the pieces to the fit input current 7.8m from the dsd1790 .
R*7.8m p/p
(This is not the RMS)

Then calculate the values of capacitors
Fit for the new resistors values.

The problem of loud noise coming from the speakers randomly

When removing the muting transistor

D4.JPG

The rest of the muting transistor are still active
Can cause a problem
Way to solve this is to remove the resistor 1.8K- R290
6.JPG

In this way the circuit is completely neutralized
