Hello Folks,
when discussing whether my KSS-274A laser was properly set up in this thread,
I found out, that the circuits of the KSS-274A (not available) and KSS-240A
(available almost everywhere) look the same.
This lead me to the idea that the lasers, even if incompatible from their mechanical implementation, are electronically compatible.
This is why I would like to build a small KSS-Laser Database with photos and circuit diagrams for comparison. I assume that especially in the 90´s, KSS-Lasers did not differ so much electronically as in the 80´s.
Maybe the same type of diode was used in many KSS laser variations, and swapping it could be easy. If swapping the diode only is not easy because of alignment issues, (besides electrostatical issues) we could still think about mechanical aligment using mechanical adaptors. This is the times of 3D printing isn´t it?
Besides this, I also have access to CNC-milling but again, the database first.
So here is my donation:
Photos of the KSS-274A and KSS-240A.
Both have an onboard IC for laser power, E-F balance and focus offset,
M52104
Both look identical besides another KSS-240 circuit diagram I found in a CDP-S39.Eveb though it is a KSS-240 as well, the IC is stated M52103.
I assume they are identical.

Here we go, KSS-274A. Note that the print on the flexible pcb is KSS-273A:

...and KSS-240:
The the size way how the diode is fixed in the housing looks the same as in the KSS-274A. Circuit diagram also looks the same compared to KSS-274A.
Inthe CDP-S39, the IC is named M52103FP. I assume, they are still the same.
